Mass Rock visit
We wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to one of our wonderful grandparents, Mr Patrick O'Neill, who has been an incredible support during our Irish history topic. Patrick kindly took time out of his busy schedule to bring our P6&7 class to a 300-year-old Mass rock located on his farm. The children were absolutely fascinated by the rock and the burial site, enriching their understanding of our local history.
Not only did Patrick share insights about the Mass rock, but he also treated the children to a glimpse of an old horse and cart route that people travelled along two centuries ago, leading to Derry. He provided a geography lesson as well, showcasing the stunning Sperrin mountains, including Sawel and Dart. A great day was had by all, filled with learning and exploration.
