Peer Reading Buddy Programme
This week we were delighted to launch our new Peer Reading Buddy Programme!
On Monday afternoon, our Primary 7 pupils took part in training to help prepare them for their important role over the next few weeks. During the session, they talked about what it means to be a good reading buddy and the responsibilities that come with supporting younger readers.
Today, the programme officially began—and what a joy it was to watch! Our Primary 7 children approached their roles with enthusiasm, kindness and maturity. It was wonderful to see them encouraging their younger buddies and sharing the phonological and pictorial reading strategies they have learned over the years.
Both groups of children gained so much from today’s session and are already excited for tomorrow. We are very proud of all our pupils and look forward to seeing this lovely partnership continue to grow.
