Parents Area

School Uniform

The uniform comprises a bottle green jumper, white polo-shirt and charcoal trousers or skirt. Green and white gingham dresses are optional for the warmer months. The jumper is available from O'Neills in Strabane, and the polo-shirt, school trousers, skirt and dress can be sourced at any of the usual outlets. Please ensure that all items of the school uniform are labelled with the child's name to avoid confusion.

School Day

The school day begins at 09.10. Children will be admitted to the school from 08.40 onwards, and should not arrive before this as they will not be supervised before this time. Primary 1 and 2 pupils finish at 2pm but can remain for after-school club from 2-3pm, if parents wish.  Children not travelling by bus should be collected at 3.00 PM.

Parking at the School

Please leave the lay-by at the front of the school clear for buses. Due to space restrictions, the school car park will be unavailable for drop-offs and pick-ups. Parents are asked to walk pupils to the front door in the morning and collect them from the front door in the afternoon.

Healthy Eating

We encourage healthy eating at the school. For morning break, please choose milk or water, and/or fruit, vegetables or a sandwich. Pupils should not bring sweets or fizzy drinks to school. If necessary, please include only one sweet item in your child’s lunch box.

School Milk

As milk is ordered on a monthly basis, parents will be notified in advance of the cost for the following month. Money should be sent into school in a sealed envelope with the child/ children’s name on it.  If you wish to cancel milk, please do so before the 25th of the month.

School Dinners

School meals cost £2.60 per day, or £13.00 per week, to be paid on a Monday. Please put money in a sealed envelope, marked with your child's full name and stating the purpose for which the money is intended.

Allergies

Some of our children have peanut allergies. Please do not send peanuts (or food containing nuts) to school as there could be very serious consequences.

Attendance

School attendance is monitored by DENI. If your child is off school for any reason, please let us know by phone or in writing, so that we can enter the correct code in the register.

P.E

Pupils will change for PE/dance in school. They should bring suitable tops, bottoms and footwear on the day. Pupils should not arrive in school wearing their PE clothes. We ask all pupils to have a pair plimsoles in school for the start of the school year, used for various activities.

Contacting the School

Please contact the school in person or by phone to speak to a member of staff. Please do this outside of class teaching hours, either before or after school. It may be beneficial to arrange an appointment.
